As we are each one have been positioned for this season of wrestling, travailing and prevailing for unfinished assignments, we have pressed into and prevailed through some very difficult trials and tests.
We must stop and take a moment to prepare our minds afresh, morning by morning, for we recognize that Satan’s attacks are primarily directed at the mind.
Though our old man was crucified at the Cross through a ‘change of mind’, we still are charged with the task of delivering the soul from the power of the enemy.
The unrenewed mind was part of the old man, and we are always in process of renewing our mind to the mind of Christ.
As I take my position as a Warrior, I prepare my mind for the assignment. So this is what I choose to say,
“LORD, I submit myself to You. I trust You to give me a renewed mind as I agree to part with the old one, for You are my life and my life is in You. I thank You that your mind is in me.”
As mighty warriors, we are dressed for battle. We have armored up recognizing that the ‘mind’ continues to be the strategic battle ground, even when we have claimed the deliverance of Calvary.
We must know how the complete liberation of the mind has to be actually worked out, and for this to take place, The Spirit of God needs our complete active cooperation.
Paul wrote to the Corinthians,
“But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, your minds will be led astray from sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, this you tolerate very well!” 2 Corinthians 11:2-4 NASB.
So the danger of the Christian is false teaching getting into the mind, and diverting him from the simple Gospel. Satan so often transforms himself into an Angel of Light.
Beloved, I share this today as a preface and warning of what is taking place all over the world today, in the war between good and evil.
Paul’s warning has multiplied at least a thousand fold today through psychic forces at work in our nations. Whenever we find ourselves prejudiced or in deep opposition to some truth that we do not understand, it always points to an unrenewed mind to the real truth.
These are times to compare truth with truth, compare truth with lives and compare truth with the nature of spirits.
The Revelations of God must be clearly understood in its correct context. This is the time to tune our ears to hear The Voice of The LORD clearly and receive fresh insights into truth in order to set our hearts and minds in order.
One of the major battles we face today, that even the Psalmist recognized, is stress, and the need to quiet our heart as he expressed in Psalm 62:5 “My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him.” (NKJV).
It is definitely a time to tell our soul to ‘chill out’. Stress that lends itself to physical, mental, and emotional tension often leads to doubt, worry and fear.
In our world today, we see that as one of the rampant causes of hopelessness, depression and despair. So stand guard over your heart before you position yourself at the gate.
The Psalmist commanded himself to ‘chill out’ and wait silently for The LORD.
As we begin to position ourselves at the gate, we ask The Father to give us a single eye to focus on new understanding of Gates.
Cities have gates. States have gates. Nations have gates. Intercessors are Warriors. So who and where are the volunteers standing at the gates?
Gates in any city in Israel were complex. For defense against enemies, these gates were constructed into very thick walls, so thick that there was first an outer gate and then and inner gate, with a large space in between.
That space between was a key “come-together” place. “In between the gates”, you were there to weigh in on city matters, Contract agreements? Made at the gate! Quarrels? Resolved at the gate!
“He will give a longing for justice to their judges. He will give great courage to their warriors who stand at the gates.” Isaiah 28:6.
As we take a look at the book of Esther in chapter two, we find Mordecai” sitting at the King’s Gate” where he overheard a plot to kill the King.
God positioned Mordecai to gain a breakthrough for the whole nation of Israel — and it all began at a gate.
So, let’s connect the dots here, how does this fit in to ‘Warriors that Stand at the Gate’?
In Psalms 24;7, it says, “Lift up your heads, O you gates….” So I clearly understand, we are Gates!
There is the outer gate (the soul-mind, will, and emotions) and the inner gate (heart/spirit). When we personally ‘sit at the gate’, we are making important decisions, as Christians, about our relationship, our heart and soul agreements with God.
The key gate for each of us is The Heart Gate!
“Above all else, guard your heart with all diligence, for it is the wellspring of life.” Proverbs 4:23. KJV.
I love also the Passion Translation that says that the affections of your heart affect all that you are. So many Christians simply overlook or fail to take a closer look at their personal ‘heart issues’.
As many of you know, I am writing a book about the “Heart” soon to be published, and I cannot express adequately how deeply it has affected my whole life and spiritual growth.
Then, there is the very complex Mind Gate: Paul wrote, ”.. take every thought captive to obey Christ,” (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Individually, each of us sits “between the gates”… our Heart Gate and our Mind Gate.
So before we run off to confront the enemy at the gates, first and foremost, we have to be checked out at our personal ‘gate space’.
That is always our first order of business as Intercessors. We must make sure we are measuring up to God’s requirements of ‘clean hands and a pure heart’.
“Who shall ascend into the hill of The LORD? Or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.” Psalm 23:3-4.
The LORD is saying to His leaders, “True Character is revealed in the day of diversity. It is most urgent that you gain control of self for you are called and appointed to extend the Kingdom of God in the earth.
You are the living example for the next generation, so there is no more time for self-indulgent as soldiers of The Cross,” says the Captain of The LORD of Hosts.
“I AM raising you up to subdue, multiply and be fruitful as you set the pace to challenge the youth. I have developed in you a lifelong pattern of diligence, discipline, and steadfastness that you may possess a heart of courage, a determination to persevere and a diversity to always be resilient,” says The Father.
“Those who have truly repented of their double-mindedness shall never look back and travel the road of compromise for a heart that is established has died in the wilderness and are no longer living for self but now Christ alone can live in you.
I have heard your heart cries, “I want to do something important! I want to make a difference! I want to be who you say I am! I want be who you called me to be!” and I AM commissioning you to take a giant step into your called-out purpose, for you are fully equipped for the battle, you are tough and you are tender, you are challenged and you are steadfast, you are weak, but you are strong in me,” says The LORD.
“You can never go back to yesterday, for yesterday was a training ground for higher ground. You have failed and you have passed, you know how to be first, and you know how to be last, you have received correction with humility and you have reached the maturity to take My Rod and My Staff for your comfort as you walk in spiritual authority by My Grace and Mercy,” says The Father.
“You shall finish triumphantly as you take hold of the unknown with a brave heart, letting go of the familiar, and trusting your LORD and Savior with your whole heart.
Who are you? You know who you are. For you recognize these words describing My Disciple, My Soldier of the Cross, My Chosen Warrior and My Witness unto all the world,” says The LORD of all.
“Now go you therefore!”
“Yahweh claims the world as his. Everything and everyone belong to him! He’s the one who pushed back oceans to let the dry ground appear, planting firm foundations for the earth. Who, then, is allowed to ascend the mountain of Yahweh? And who has the privilege of entering into God’s Holy Place? Those who are clean — whose works and ways are pure, whose hearts are true and sealed by the truth, those who never deceive, whose words are sure. They will receive Yahweh’s blessing and righteousness given by the Savior-God. They will stand before God, for they seek the pleasure of God’s face, the God of Jacob. Pause in his presence So wake up, you living gateways! Lift up your heads, you doorways of eternity! Welcome the King of Glory, for he is about to come through you. You ask, “Who is this King of Glory?” Yahweh, armed and ready for battle, Yahweh, invincible in every way! So wake up, you living gateways, and rejoice! Fling wide, you eternal doors! Here he comes; the King of Glory is ready to come in. You ask, “Who is this King of Glory?” He is Yahweh, armed and ready for battle, the Mighty One, the invincible commander of heaven’s hosts! Yes, he is the King of Glory! Pause in his presence.” Psalm 24:1-10 TPT.
